Hi everybody.
We just found out that today is our very first anniversary of being with wordpress. It is crazy how much time has flown by, and it made me want to look back on this year, through my blog and was nice to see all the adventures and ideas and posts we have made and shared with everyone on here.
It is quite cool to think I have started blogging about Kirby since the very beginning of his puppyhood with me, and it is still going. I never knew starting out how long this would last, but it has now become a part of our life, whether it is once a week or thrice a week sharing with you all how this little dogs doing and a bit into our life
I have made many bloggy friends on here I am glad to say,and has been thus far a great experience, one I plan on continuingâ¦.and continuningâ¦etc

Anyways I have been sick the last bit so havenât been posting lately. Though thought I would update you on my thoughts on mice. I have a very odd relationship with mice, as does Kirby I have come to realize. I cannot help but think they are one of the cutest creatures on this earth. Yet if/when I see one and it scurries across the floor infront of me I do want to jump on a chair and scream. I realize its the quickness and surprise of them that freaks me out. Iâm talking about deer mice of course. Oh, you donât think I mean pet mice do you? No, I mean the little ones that get into your house somehow, start a family/ colony, then before you know it are realizing your house is getting taken over by these little guys! Now I know not everyone is the same, but the small cute and furry animal lover I am I would never ever be able to harm one. I had a hamster you know before I got Kirby, and it was absolutely the sweetest little guy ever. And thus it is hard for me to differentiate between one and the cute little *cough* annoying *cough* guys who were invading our house for some time.
Eureka, with the help of catch-and-release mouse traps, cheese, peanut butter, and car rides to release, I am pretty sure they have been captured and re-homed. Though that is where their annoying part comes inâ¦you never are to sure are youâ¦
Anyways I decided to do a poll, mice, the house kind, cute and tolerable, or gross and must get rid of at any cost necessary?
But wait, before you answer have a look at these little guys, as there are many different types you know!
These are Dormouse, specifically found in the UK so Iâve heard, and probably the cutest little guys out there!
And here is our version, DEER MICE
And finally the Kirbymouse, please tell me if you have seen one like this, as I know there is one in my house, and he keeps popping out at night, heres a snap of the little beast todayâ¦..
So first off, here is a video we did on all the things I could think of being on a checklist when adopting a dog/ getting a puppy⦠Let me know if you think I missed out on anything!
Anyways, hey everyone! Hope everyone is having a good week so far?! Kirby and I had a eventful day this past Sunday. We went to the dog park, had a picnic, even went for ice cream (yes someone may have had a lickâ¦XD) but would you believe I didnât think to take one picture of our excursion!? Aww well, I did end up going to a fair (without Kirby) and me thinking we actually had to pay to get in this one, there must be something fantastic about it! But I was pretty disappointed. I donât find tractor displays and stalls dedicated to the development of corn particularly fascinating, though there was a sweet petting zoo. Now normally I am not a fan of petting zoos (-my views on animal ethics and all that jazz) but there were some hungry little faces that I couldnât help passing by and not giving them a little munch, with the animal feed they provide. Here are some pictures.
Not much has happened this week so thought I would share a couple pictures of us having
some fun with Kirbyâs ever-growing hair before it was his bath time
If anyone who hasnât seen our youtube yet, please check it out, and subscribe if you like it, it would make our day
So I am going to try to rack my brain today on some things I learned through my animal course, and one of the things we learned about is supplements. And one of the ones that interests me the most is Fish oil, as it was one I routinely used (the people kind XD).
I canât tell you how many people I know taking fish oils at some point or another (I did too). And in essence if we are suggested supplements to take for things we are lacking in our diet, why not dogs and cats?
Fish oil is a popular recommendation not only with doctors giving us humans a natural alternative to a prescriptions, but even for dogs as well they have become quite popular.
Now I learned in school Glucosamine and Chrondroitin is noted as helping dogs joints. So it goes without saying this is a excellent ingredients to have in your dog food if they are experiencing joint problems. Though unfortunately unless you are feeding them âa luxury foodâ as I like to call them such as the vet recommended brandsâ¦which can also get quite pricey as we all know, sometimes its better to find a alternative to add with their diet. This is where a supplement, specifically in this case salmon fish oils like  Lintbells Fish Oil For Dogs help out with joint problems as well as even helping nursing dogs.
Fish oils are known as well as being a great source of omega 3, essential fatty acids- which are great for senior dogs as well. They help the dogs immune system against bad things such as arthritis and allergies So if you notice your favorite dog food isnât providing this, and your dog has a issue with one of these things then it might be a good idea to talk to your vet about it to see if a fish oil substitution is good for your little fur ball. Of course there are different types for different poochies so make sure the one you get is the one right for your dog.
Fish oil has also been routinely recommended by vets even to deal with dog skin conditions. As it has been known to be a natural way to decrease swelling. They help with scratching and itching and discomfort the dog is experiencing.
Fish oil has even been used with cats to prevent dry, skin that causes dandruff.
Now fish oil, it may be natural, but that doesnât mean you should just feed it to your little guy willy-nilly. Oh no, just like everything else, sometimes if the supplement is not needed in the first place, or you give your pet the wrong type or too much it can cause problems too. So always make sure you do your research and ask a vets advice when deciding supplements are the way you want to go.
Well that more then my brain can handle, but if you guys want to learn more you should check out this interesting post I fell upon which lists 12 Natural Supplements for Dogs

And just a video I made on my thoughts on deciding to get a cat or dog.
So it has been a long secret that I have meaning to share with you guys. An ability Kirby has possessed ONLY WHEN WET but we have kept under wraps. He speaks! And no I donât just mean bark bark! but his very own voice⦠actually it sounds a bit like mine (purely coincidence I assure you) Anyways he has a lot to say XD
(â¦.We both had a lot of fun filming this, and I think if Kirby did have a voice it probably wouldnât be too far off from this one)
Happy Wordless Wednesday everyone! And I hope if anyone is having a rough day this little guy may have helped brighten up your day:)
p.s- extra bonus Kirby kisses if you guys recognize where we got the inspiration for the thumbnail!:)
Next week I will be doing a update on Kirbyâs puppy friends we made videos for, Christian and Rocco and boy have they grown up! So stay tuned for next Wednesday
In the mean timeâ¦.stop and smell the roses
